THG Network (July 10, 2017) — The annual Nevis Mango and Food Festival climaxed on Sunday (July 9) at Oualie Beach, with a festive feeling in the air.
Four days of cooking demonstrations and dining experiences commenced on Thursday (July 6).
The grand finale could not have been staged any better as it allowed persons to sample a variety of tasty dishes, and try the local mango rum and mango smoothies. This set the mood for patrons, locals and visitors, to “mix and mingle.”
The Green House Band was definitely in the right place at the right time. Its members kept the crowd rocking from side to side as patrons waited in line to sample another delicious course.
The event isn’t just about eating and talking to friends but a time for chefs to showcase their skills, by creating appetizing food. Gracing Nevis’ shores were celebrity chefs Judy Joo; who has been an iron chef with Food Network in the U.K., and Seamus Mullen, an award winning New York chef and health and wellness expert.
The highlight of Sunday was the cook-off among the different hotels. The Montpelier Plantation Beach Club did an amazing job and was judged champion.
